Morocco’s Comatam, a subsidiary of the leading phosphate producer OCP Group, has carried out a record-breaking loading operation at Jorf Lasfar Port on the Atlantic coast, according to local media. The Hespress news site reported that on October 24 the shipping and marine logistics company loaded 100,000 tonnes of fertilizer onto a bulk carrier bound for India. The vessel, named the Patricia Oldendorff, measures 255 meters in length and 46 meters in width – with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes. Local media said that the operations were executed safely and in accordance with international norms. The ship subsequently set sail on November 1. The previous record for fertilizer loading is said to have stood at 75,000 tonnes. That was set in Brazil.
