# Lukoil to build urea production facility in southwestern Russia

Lukoil says it will capitalize on natural gas produced at its fields in the Caspian Sea.

Russia’s Lukoil announced on Monday that it is partnering with the Chinese chemical engineering company CC7 to build a fertilizer manufacturing facility in Russia’s southwestern Stavropol Krai.

Lukoil said that it will use natural gas from its fields in the north of the Caspian Sea to manufacture urea at the proposed factory in Budennovsk.

The Russian multinational added that it is holding talks with the regional leadership to explore investment incentives.

CC7 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the China National Chemical Engineering Corporation, one of the largest companies in China.
