# Reliable electricity supply supports farming industry in Gansu

Constant power ensures optimal conditions for seedling growth and agricultural operations.

As the chilly weather persists in the Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu province, local growers are relying on advanced facilities to maintain ideal temperatures for their delicate seedlings. This is made possible thanks to the reliable electricity supply provided by the State Grid Linxia Power Supply Company.

At Gansu Kanghui Modern Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Industry Co Ltd, a provincial-level key company that integrates vegetable planting, processing, cold storage, and sales, employees have introduced automatic constant-temperature electric heating fans capable of automatically adjusting the temperature inside the seedling sheds. “This ensures optimal conditions for healthy seedling growth,” said an employee.

With a vast planting area spanning over 3,800 mu and boasting 246 greenhouses for vegetables, as well as 10 daylight greenhouses, Kanghui’s demand for electricity surges during the spring farming season. “To maintain the temperature in the seedling greenhouse, we observe the color of the seedling leaves regularly, ensuring proper nutrition and water supply,” explained Zhou Guoqing, the person in charge of Kanghui. “We also monitor temperature changes. Currently, our seedling base has achieved full automation supervision from seeding to nurturing, thanks to stable electrical support.”

Recognizing the importance of a reliable power supply for this leading agricultural enterprise, State Grid Linxia Power Supply Co has assisted Kanghui in comprehensively inspecting electrical facilities and power supply lines for potential safety hazards. This proactive measure ensures a secure and uninterrupted power supply during the critical vegetable seedling cultivation period.

At Kanghui’s husbandry park, electrical staff conducted a power usage inspection last week, focusing on key equipment such as greenhouse curtain lifting systems, integrated water and fertilizer machines, exhaust fans, air conditioning units, temperature control devices, and seedling sowing machines. “The inspection ensures the safe and stable operation of various electrical equipment, providing worry-free electricity for planting enterprises during spring planting and aiding in local economic and social high-quality development,” Zhou said.

Moving forward, the power company pledges to continue conducting in-depth customer visits, strengthening the operation and maintenance of distribution network equipment, eliminating safety hazards, and safeguarding agricultural production and local economic development.
