He detailed U.S. support initiatives, including the provision of advanced grading equipment to mango processing facilities throughout Punjab and Sindh. These efforts have helped enhance technology adoption, reduce labor costs, accelerate shipping processes, and elevate the mangoes to meet international quality and hygiene standards, thereby expanding their reach in international markets. Highlighting past successes, Schofer referenced a USAID project from 2015 to 2019 that bolstered the international and national competitiveness of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture and livestock sectors, focusing on meat, high-value and off-season vegetables, mangoes, and citrus fruits. This project facilitated over $80 million in private-sector investment and created more than 12,000 full-time jobs.
