# Russian farmers received 5.45 million tons of mineral fertilizers and are fully supplied for 2024

Producers have started to supply mineral fertilizers for the spring sowing campaign.

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, local agricultural producers have successfully met 100% of the country’s agricultural sector’s demand for mineral fertilizers for the upcoming 2024 season. The timely fulfillment ensures that preparations for the spring fieldwork are well supported, with shipments already underway.

Data released by the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers (RAFP) indicates that farmers have acquired approximately 5.45 million tons of mineral fertilizers, calculated as 100% nutrient content. This includes stockpiled resources, providing a robust foundation for the upcoming planting season.

The consumption pattern of fertilizers has remained consistent with previous years, with nitrogen fertilizers accounting for about 50% of use, phosphorus-containing fertilizers 45%, and potassium fertilizers making up the remaining 5%.

Geographically, more than a third of the fertilizer volume was purchased by agricultural enterprises in the Central Federal District, about 30% by farmers in the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, and over 15% by operations in the Volga Region.
