Syngenta Pakistan collaborates with local authorities to provide free herbicide to 15,000 wheat farmers.

Syngenta Pakistan has joined forces with the Government of Sindh to launch an initiative to boost wheat yields across the province. This collaboration will see Syngenta distributing its premier herbicide product at no cost to 15,000 wheat growers, covering an expansive 45,000 acres of farmland.

Zeeshan Hasib Baig, the Country General Manager of Syngenta Pakistan, emphasized the company’s commitment to Pakistan’s agricultural sector and food security. “Our goal is to empower wheat growers to achieve higher productivity and profitability,” Baig stated. He highlighted the effectiveness of the herbicide, which is engineered for superior weed control and can significantly improve yields with just a single application.

Munir Ahmed Jumani, Director General of Sindh Government’s Department of Agriculture Extension, also commented on the partnership. “Wheat farming holds tremendous potential in Sindh, and we are thrilled about Syngenta’s generous initiative to supply farmers with free herbicide,” Jumani remarked. He assured that the Agriculture Extension Department would provide full support to the farmers to enhance wheat production efficiency and reduce cultivation costs, thereby reinforcing food security in the region.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by Syngenta to equip farmers with advanced agricultural solutions to address challenges such as weed infestation, thereby boosting production and contributing to a food-secure future for Pakistan.
