# Yanmar completes Claas India acquisition, expands in agricultural market

Renames Claas India as Yanmar Agricultural Machinery India, adds new products for local and global markets.

Osaka-based Yanmar has completed the acquisition of CLAAS India through its joint venture Yanmar Coromandel Agrisolutions. The acquired entity has been renamed Yanmar Agricultural Machinery India Private Limited (YAMIN), with the name change effective November 20, 2024.

The acquisition expands Yanmar’s product range to include the CLAAS Crop Tiger series of wheeled and tracked combine harvesters. YAMIN will manufacture these combines and other agricultural machinery at its facility in Morinda, Punjab. The factory will support both the domestic Indian market and international demand.

The transaction was facilitated by Yanmar Coromandel Agrisolutions, a joint venture between Yanmar and Coromandel International, an Indian company specializing in fertilizers and pesticides. This partnership aligns with Yanmar’s objective to address the evolving needs of farmers in India and other markets.

YAMIN employs 220 personnel, whose expertise will contribute to the production and distribution of agricultural machinery. By integrating local manufacturing capabilities with its existing technologies, Yanmar aims to provide solutions that meet the specific requirements of the Indian agricultural sector.
