# Eléphant Vert and Pro Farm Group extend collaboration on biocontrol products in Africa

Publication Date: 13.03.2025, 12:00

Renewed agreement expands sustainable pest control efforts as biological crop protection gains traction, extending reach beyond Kenya and Morocco into East Africa and Maghreb.

Eléphant Vert (EV) and Pro Farm Group (PFG) have renewed their collaboration for the distribution of biocontrol products in Africa. The agreement maintains partnerships with EV subsidiaries in Kenya and Morocco while opening opportunities for market expansion into Ethiopia, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Algeria.

“The relaunch of the partnership that has linked the EV Group to Pro Farm Group since 2017 integrates the strategic developments of both entities and expands the biosolutions portfolio available to growers,” said Peter Braendle, CEO of EV.

## Biocontrol Products Covered in the Agreement

The renewed contract includes four biocontrol products:![](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/elephant-vert-africa.png)

- **MAJESTENE SC**: A bionematicide derived from *Burkholderia rinojensis*, which disrupts nematode development by inhibiting egg hatching and cyst formation.
- **VENERATE**: A bioinsecticide based on *Burkholderia rinojensis* fermentation metabolites, targeting biting-sucking insects through ingestion and contact.
- **GRANDEVO WDG**: A bioinsecticide formulated with *Chromobacterium subtsugae*, designed to interfere with insect feeding, reproduction, and survival.
- **REYSANA**: A biofungicide based on *Reynoutria sachalinensis* plant extracts, used for preventive and curative control of fungal diseases through induced plant defense responses.

These products are currently available in Kenya, with MAJESTENE SC also marketed in Morocco since 2019.

## Market Expansion and Sector Implications

With this renewal, EV and PFG are extending the geographic reach of their biocontrol offerings. The companies are focusing on strengthening distribution networks in East Africa and the Maghreb, where demand for alternative pest and disease management solutions is growing.

The partnership, reaffirmed during a recent visit by PFG representatives to EV, aligns with broader industry trends toward reducing chemical pesticide use. As biocontrol adoption increases, the agreement positions both companies to serve a wider base of agricultural professionals looking for non-chemical crop protection solutions.
