# AGROSUS unveils comprehensive weed database to support sustainable agriculture

AGROSUS has introduced a pioneering [weed database](https://agrosus.eu/weeds-database/), offering exhaustive information on 117 weed species. The tool provides insights into herbicide resistance, applicable herbicide treatments, and agroecological management techniques. Targeted at farmers, researchers, and policymakers, the database is designed to promote sustainable agriculture and integrated weed management.

The resource offers common names for each weed species in multiple regions and is accessible in 13 languages, including English, Portuguese, and German. This multilingual platform is poised to facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance weed management strategies across varied agricultural settings.

AGROSUS has integrated the database with international initiatives such as [Pl@ntNet](https://identify.plantnet.org), a collaborative plant identification platform, and [WeedScience](https://weedscience.org/), a global herbicide-resistance resource. It also connects with the project [GOOD](https://www.goodhorizon.eu), enhancing a network focused on sustainable agricultural research and innovation.

This initiative is part of AGROSUS’ broader goal to advance environmentally friendly weed control methods and decrease dependency on chemical herbicides. By melding scientific data with agroecological approaches, AGROSUS aims to address the challenges of weed management in an era of climate change.

The database is accessible through the AGROSUS website, where users can also view a summary video. AGROSUS, coordinated by Universidad de Vigo, involves 16 partners from various European and associated countries.
