# Ecorobotix partners with RDO Equipment to launch AI-powered sprayer in Australia

Publication Date: 10.04.2025, 10:00

Collaboration aims to support sustainable farming with precision technology for vegetable growers.

Ecorobotix, a Swiss agricultural technology firm, has partnered with RDO Equipment Australia to introduce its AI-powered ARA sprayer to Australian vegetable growers. The strategic alliance brings cutting-edge precision spraying technology to key agricultural regions, including Queensland, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory.

The ARA sprayer, designed for ultra-precise application of plant protection products, employs AI-driven software that delivers a 6×6 cm spray footprint, significantly reducing chemical input by up to 95%. This technology allows for plant-by-plant detection, minimizing crop phytotoxicity and enhancing soil health. It also offers economic benefits by reducing reliance on manual weeding crews, an increasing challenge for large-scale growers.

“By leveraging our global network and RDO’s established presence in Australia, we are providing growers with access to sustainable farming solutions that improve both productivity and environmental impact,” said Steve Hegarty, Integrated Solutions Manager at RDO Equipment.

The ARA sprayer supports more than 20 vegetable crops, including carrots, lettuce, and onions, and is expected to help Australian farmers address growing pressure to adopt more sustainable practices while managing input costs. Ecorobotix, a Certified B Corporation, has positioned its technology as part of the broader trend toward reducing agrochemical use in agriculture.

RDO Equipment, a major John Deere dealer, will offer sales, service, and support for the ARA system through its extensive dealer network. The partnership with Ecorobotix aligns with RDO’s ongoing efforts to provide innovative precision farming solutions in Australia.

As Australian farmers face increasing challenges related to labor shortages, rising input costs, and stricter environmental regulations, technologies like the ARA sprayer are gaining traction as tools to help boost efficiency while reducing the ecological footprint of agriculture.
