# Pivot Bio appoints Daryl Allen as vice president of sales

Publication Date: 03.06.2025, 12:00

Former Corteva executive to oversee US sales strategy amid global expansion plans.

Pivot Bio, a St. Louis-based agricultural technology company developing microbial crop nutrition products, has named Daryl Allen vice president of sales. Allen will report to Chief Commercial Officer Chris Turner and lead Pivot Bio’s national sales strategy and distribution network in the US.

Founded in 2011, Pivot Bio’s technologies aim to reduce reliance on synthetic nitrogen fertilizers, a key source of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental concern worldwide. Its products are currently applied on nearly 15 million acres in North America, with ongoing plans to expand into Brazil and other high-growth agricultural regions such as South America and South Asia.

Allen joins Pivot Bio from Corteva Agriscience, where he led global business expansion in biological crop inputs. He brings more than 30 years of sales leadership experience, including senior roles at DuPont and Monsanto. Allen holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Lincoln University in Missouri and completed executive education at Columbia Business School.

The appointment comes amid increasing global demand for sustainable agricultural inputs. Biological crop nutrition products like those developed by Pivot Bio are gaining traction as governments and agribusinesses worldwide seek alternatives to synthetic fertilizers amid mounting environmental regulations and market pressures.

Pivot Bio recently launched PROVEN G3, an advanced formulation of its nitrogen-replacing product, and expanded its offerings to new crops including cotton and sorghum. The company has earned recognition from *Time*, *Fast Company*, and *Fortune* for its innovation and impact on climate-smart agriculture.

“Daryl’s leadership experience and industry knowledge will support Pivot Bio’s commercial growth as we extend our reach in both established and emerging markets,” said Turner. “Our mission to transform crop nutrition with natural, effective solutions aligns with the evolving priorities of farmers and supply chains worldwide.”
