Ashraf Malik to retire in 2026 after overseeing expansion and safety improvements.

CF Industries![](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/cf-logo.jpg) said its longtime head of manufacturing and distribution will retire next year, and that a former senior executive from rival producer Nutrien will take over the role.

Ashraf K. Malik,![](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/ashraf-k.-malik.jpeg) senior vice president of manufacturing and distribution, plans to step down on April 1, 2026, after more than a decade in the position. He will be succeeded by Trevor Williams, who most recently served as executive vice president and president of nitrogen and phosphate at Nutrien.

Malik joined CF in 2011 and played a central role in expanding the company’s production network and embedding a stronger safety culture, according to the company. His tenure included oversight during periods of volatility in global fertilizer markets and growth in clean ammonia initiatives.

“[Malik] has helped the company deliver industry-leading operational performance,” said Chris Bohn, CF’s chief operating officer, in a statement.

Williams, who joined Agrium (now Nutrien) in 2011,![](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/trevor-williams.jpeg) brings more than 30 years of experience in nitrogen and chemical operations, including senior leadership roles at Nova Chemicals. He holds degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from Mount Allison University and Dalhousie University.

The transition comes as CF, one of the world’s largest ammonia producers, continues to invest in low-carbon hydrogen and nitrogen products. The company operates major manufacturing complexes in the US, Canada and the UK, and serves agricultural and industrial markets globally.
