# Tidal Grow AgriScience introduces nitrogen management fertilizer alignN

Publication Date: 18.09.2025, 14:00

New foliar-applied technology targets efficiency gains in broadacre crops.

Tidal Grow AgriScience, a division of Tidal Vision Products, has launched a new nitrogen management fertilizer designed to reduce waste and improve nutrient efficiency in major field crops. The product, marketed as **alignN 18-0-0**, is the first commercial fertilizer based on the company’s *align Technology*, an encapsulated formulation engineered for leaf absorption.

The product delivers urea nitrogen directly onto and into crop leaves, where it is intended to be absorbed more effectively than with conventional soil-applied fertilizers. Tidal Grow said the technology aims to minimize nitrogen loss through leaching, runoff, and volatilization—persistent challenges in crop nutrition.

Initial field trials, covering nearly 9,500 acres in the US, showed yield-related improvements in crops including corn, wheat, cotton, and canola, according to the company. Farmers observed stronger root development, thicker stalks, reduced leaf firing, and larger ears.

The foliar fertilizer can be applied at low rates by ground equipment, aerial sprayers, or drones, and is compatible with most herbicides, fungicides, and other nutritional inputs. Tidal Grow said this flexibility allows the product to fit into existing nutrient management programs while simplifying logistics during critical growing stages.

“Nitrogen inefficiency has been a long-standing issue in agriculture,” said Trey Cutts, vice president of commercial agriculture science at Tidal Grow. “Our technology provides growers with a more targeted way to supply nitrogen, ultimately improving crop performance.”

The company is positioning alignN as cost-competitive with traditional nitrogen sources, while offering the benefit of in-season decision-making. Supply chain disruptions and fluctuating fertilizer costs have made nitrogen management a focus for many North American growers in recent years.

Tidal Grow AgriScience indicated plans to expand alignN to international markets, with additional formulations under development.
