GDM has opened a new global headquarters in Buenos Aires, marking a further step in the Argentine-based plant genetics company’s recent expansion and consolidation in global agricultural markets.

The opening ceremony, held at the Lumina building in San Isidro, brought together senior management and more than 450 employees from across GDM’s Argentine operations. Chief executive Ignacio Bartolomé and company founder Gerardo Bartolomé attended the event alongside members of the executive committee, formally inaugurating the new offices.

GDM said the headquarters is intended to support collaboration across its international business and to underpin its continued growth in plant genetics. The facility was designed to accommodate a larger global workforce and to create a centralized hub for strategic coordination as the company expands its presence across key agricultural regions.

The move comes after a year in which GDM reinforced its position through a series of strategic acquisitions, strengthening its leadership in plant genetics and seed development. The company now employs about 4,800 people worldwide and operates in most major agricultural markets, supplying genetics and technology aimed at improving crop productivity and sustainability.

Management described the new headquarters as a reflection of the company’s evolution from a family-founded business into a global player, while maintaining its existing corporate culture. GDM said the Buenos Aires site would play a central role in supporting talent development and long-term growth as demand for advanced plant genetics continues to rise globally.
