# Russia sets 20 million tons grain export quota for the first half of 2026

Restrictions will apply from mid-February through June, with wheat and other key grains capped at 20 million tons

The Russian government has approved a tariff quota on grain exports for the first half of 2026, setting limits on shipments of key cereals amid efforts to balance domestic supply and overseas demand. The quota will be in effect from February 15 to June 30, 2026, according to the government’s decision.

Under the measure, exports of wheat, meslin, barley, and corn outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be capped at a combined total of 20 million tons. The quota for rye exports has been set at zero.

Officials stated that the decision was made based on projected grain production and consumption levels in Russia and is intended to maintain stability in the domestic grain market while ensuring predictable supplies to international buyers.

The restrictions will not apply to grain exported as part of humanitarian assistance to foreign countries.
