# Bayer launches Sivanto Energy — new foliar insecticide for canola

Bayer Crop Science Canada positions Sivanto Energy as an advanced option for early-season pest management.

Bayer Crop Science Canada has introduced Sivanto Energy, a new foliar insecticide designed to offer canola growers rapid and sustained control of flea beetles, a persistent early-season pest that can significantly damage young crops.

The product combines two active ingredients, deltamethrin and flupyradifurone, deploying dual modes of action to deliver both fast knockdown of pests and extended protection. The formulation pairs a Group 3 insecticide with a Group 4D insecticide, a combination Bayer says supports broader pest management and resistance strategies.

According to Bayer, Sivanto Energy’s systemic properties can safeguard emerging canola plants for up to four days after application, shielding them through vulnerable early growth stages when flea beetle pressure tends to peak.

“This integrated multiple active ingredient approach not only ensures comprehensive pest management but also provides growers with the flexibility they need,” said Ashley Smith, SeedGrowth & Broadacre Insecticide Product Manager at Bayer. The company framed the launch as part of an effort to equip growers with reliable tools amid evolving pest pressures and agronomic challenges.

Bryan Bryson, Marketing Portfolio Lead at Bayer Crop Science Canada, highlighted the operational benefits of the extended protection window, suggesting it allows growers to focus on broader aspects of crop management with greater confidence that their canola fields are protected.

Sivanto Energy represents the latest addition to Bayer’s canola protection portfolio and is positioned as a next-generation option for managing flea beetle risk in broadacre cropping systems.
