# Agromin composts 1.25 million tons of organic waste in 2025

Publication Date: 20.02.2026, 10:00

California recycler expands output as municipalities ramp up compliance with state organics mandates.

Oxnard-based [Agromin](https://agromin.com) said it processed more than 1.25 million tons of organic waste in 2025, an increase of 250,000 tons from the prior year, underscoring the growing impact of California’s mandatory organics recycling requirements.

The company, which operates 21 processing and composting facilities across the state, supplies finished compost and mulch to farmers, landscapers, residential customers, nonprofits, schools and public agencies. Ten jurisdictions partnered with Agromin last year to distribute compost and mulch to residents through coupon-based programs designed to support compliance with California’s organics diversion rules under California Senate Bill 1383.

Through online ordering portals managed by Agromin, residents in nine cities and one county received 1,806 tons of compost and 2,246 tons of mulch in bulk, along with 17,450 bags of compost. Chief Executive Bill Camarillo said such programs provide a practical outlet for compost generated under the state mandate, which bars organic waste from landfills, and are expected to expand to additional jurisdictions.
