Seven-week program led by former Bayer and Monsanto data engineer will focus on geospatial analytics, remote sensing, and farm data dashboards.

A new online course launching in June 2026 aims to equip professionals with the technical skills needed to analyze agricultural data and support the growing agri-tech sector. The seven-week “[Agricultural Data Analytics](https://elvtr.com/course/agricultural-data-analytics-course)” program will run from June 2 to July 16 and be taught by Clayton Young, a former lead data engineer who previously worked at Bayer, Monsanto, and The Climate Corporation.

The course focuses on applying modern data science tools to agriculture, including geospatial analysis, satellite remote sensing, and farm data visualization. Participants will work with datasets from organizations such as US Department of Agriculture, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to analyze crop health, weather trends, and soil conditions. Lessons also cover programming with Python and SQL, as well as the use of satellite imagery and vegetation indices such as NDVI to monitor crop performance.

Students will complete eight practical assignments and analyze real-world case studies using agricultural datasets and precision farming tools. The course culminates in a final project in which participants build a “Row Crop Intelligence Dashboard,” integrating multiple layers of farm data to generate insights on yield optimization, sustainability metrics, and field variability.
