# Beck’s acquires Missouri soybean facility to expand processing capacity

Move targets rising Midwest demand as company deepens regional logistics footprint.

Beck’s Hybrids has acquired a soybean processing facility in Marshall, Missouri, from MFA Incorporated, adding capacity in a region where the company expects demand to accelerate over the next two growing seasons.

The site, previously operated by Mid-State Seed, is designed for seed conditioning and distribution and can process up to 1 million units annually. It includes more than 400,000 bushels of storage capacity, positioning it as a regional hub for handling and shipping soybean seed across Missouri, Iowa and neighboring states.

The acquisition formalizes an existing relationship: the facility had been used in recent years to clean and package seed for Beck’s. Bringing the operation in-house is expected to streamline logistics and reduce reliance on third-party processors as volumes increase.

Missouri is projected to be the company’s fastest-growing soybean market through the 2025–2026 seasons, reflecting shifts in planting patterns and continued demand for high-yield varieties. Expanding local processing capacity allows the company to position inventory closer to farms and respond more quickly during peak delivery periods.

The facility spans about 150,000 square feet of warehouse space and includes office infrastructure. Employees currently working at the site will be able to apply for roles with Beck’s as operations transition.

For MFA, the sale reflects a strategic shift away from operating processing assets. Chief operating officer Jason Weirich said the cooperative plans to rely more on contract processors while focusing on seed genetics and agronomy services.
