# Uralchem doubles fertilizer shipments to APEC countries as Asia-Pacific demand rises

The company says deliveries to APEC member states exceeded 6.5 million tonnes in 2025, highlighting the growing role of the Asia-Pacific region in global fertilizer trade.

Russian fertilizer producer Uralchem said its shipments to member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation more than doubled since 2022, reaching 6.5 million tonnes in 2025, as demand for crop nutrients remains strong across the Asia-Pacific region.

The figures were disclosed by Dmitry Konyaev during the Russia–APEC: Broad Cooperation Horizons up to 2035 session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026, where government and business representatives discussed fertilizer supply security amid global shortages and elevated prices for some fertilizer products. According to Konyaev, expanding cooperation with APEC economies remains a strategic priority for the company, which has been developing distribution networks in Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.

Konyaev said the company considers fertilizer affordability when planning shipments to Asia-Pacific markets, aiming to maintain economic viability for farmers while supporting agricultural production across the region. Uralchem is among the world's largest producers and exporters of nitrogen and compound fertilizers, while the broader Uralchem Group, which includes Uralkali and TOAZ, has a combined production capacity of about 25 million tonnes and employs more than 38,000 people.
