# Cropin and Google Cloud launch OrbitAI, an agentic AI agriculture platform spanning 400 crops

Built on 15 years of ground-truth data from 103 countries, OrbitAI deploys specialized AI agents for autonomous decision-making across the food chain.

Indian agtech company Cropin launched OrbitAI on July 15, describing it as the first agentic AI agriculture platform built for autonomous decision-making across the food value chain. The platform was developed on Google Cloud's infrastructure using Gemini models, the Agent Development Kit, BigQuery and WeatherNext.

OrbitAI is trained on Cropin's proprietary agricultural datasets collected over 15 years, covering operations in 103 countries, more than 400 crops and over 10,000 varieties across more than one billion acres of farmland. The platform deploys a network of specialized AI agents that deliver region-specific, natural-language recommendations to users ranging from sourcing managers and commodity traders to smallholder farmers and sustainability officers.

The company is also offering OrbitAI as an open Model Context Protocol server, allowing integration with other AI systems including GPT, Claude, Llama and Mistral. That interoperability could make Cropin's agricultural intelligence accessible as a native tool call within enterprise AI workflows. Cropin founder Krishna Kumar said OrbitAI pairs Google Cloud's infrastructure with proprietary predictive models to forecast outcomes before they happen, keeping the complexity behind the scenes.
