Five of eight major fertilizers tracked by DTN were cheaper than a month earlier in the second full week of August, but most prices remained above year-ago levels.

U.S. retail fertilizer prices continued their gradual decline in the second full week of August, with five of eight major nutrients tracked by DTN priced below the previous month. The trend marked the **fourth consecutive week** in which five fertilizers posted month-over-month declines, although only UAN28 recorded a significant move.

UAN28 fell 7% from the previous month to an average of **$446 per ton**, meeting DTN's threshold for a significant price change of 5% or more. Urea averaged **$678 per ton**, while 10-34-0 was **$718 per ton**, anhydrous ammonia was **$964 per ton**, and UAN32 was **$458 per ton**. DAP, MAP and potash moved slightly higher, averaging **$917, $960 and $495 per ton**, respectively.

Despite the recent declines, fertilizer prices remain elevated compared with a year earlier. Seven of the eight products tracked by DTN were more expensive year over year, led by anhydrous ammonia, which was **27% higher**, while DAP was up 11%, 10-34-0 and MAP each gained 7%, and urea and UAN28 were 6% higher. UAN32 was the only fertilizer below its year-ago level, down 6%.

The latest data indicate that the easing seen in fertilizer markets is gradually reaching U.S. retailers. DTN's survey also comes as supply conditions have improved following disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz and the gradual return of Chinese urea exports. However, retail prices remain well above 2025 levels for most products, keeping fertilizer costs elevated for growers preparing for the 2027 crop.
