Egyptian fertilizer producer NCIC has issued a new sales tender closing on September 1, offering DAP, phosphoric acid, SSP, CAN and other products, according to Argus Media. The NCIC fertilizer tender for September 2026 comes after the company reported strong results in its latest August round, where [DAP was awarded at $915–920 per tonne FOB](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/20260824-ncic-egypt-dap-tender-august-2026-915-920/) — a substantial increase from $890–900 per tonne FOB in its late July tender. NCIC did not award the 10,000 tonnes of TSP or 30,000 tonnes of SSP offered in its August 11 round, likely because bids fell below its expectations. TSP and SSP prices have been under pressure in Brazil, while sulfur costs — a critical input for phosphate production — have remained firm in Egypt, squeezing production margins. The new tender also includes phosphoric acid for loading at Ain Sokhna port, a product NCIC does not typically offer for export. NCIC's rising DAP prices reflect a broader tightening in global phosphate markets. China's extension of phosphate export restrictions through August 2026, covering an estimated 50% to 80% of export volumes, has pushed buyers toward producers in Morocco, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Maaden trimmed its 2026 phosphate production guidance, and OCP has accelerated maintenance at its facilities. The September 1 tender deadline will provide the next pricing signal for Mediterranean and Indian Ocean phosphate buyers ahead of the Northern Hemisphere fall application season.
