The independently operated venture will combine late-stage pipelines to develop new formulated crop protection solutions for Europe and the Americas.

Corteva and Belgium-based Globachem have signed a definitive agreement to form a 50/50 joint venture focused on developing, registering and marketing new formulated crop protection solutions for farmers in Europe and the Americas. The independently operated venture will draw on late-pipeline to commercial-stage technologies from both companies, with first products expected in the early 2030s, subject to development timelines and regulatory approvals.

The agreement deepens a multi-year collaboration between the two firms. Globachem, a privately held company headquartered in Sint-Truiden, operates in more than 60 countries and specializes in formulated crop protection products. Corteva, which reported $6.38 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, is preparing to [separate its crop protection and seed businesses](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/20260908-corteva-crop-protection-board-separation-q4-2026/) on October 1.

"We are excited to build a company that brings together the strengths of both organizations, creating sustainable value for growers, our partners and both parent companies," Corteva said in a statement. Koen Quaghebeur, Globachem's chief visionary officer and co-founder, called the Corteva Globachem joint venture "an important milestone in our long-standing relationship with Corteva."

Products developed by the joint venture may be commercialized independently by one or both parent companies through their existing distribution channels. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory clearances.
