The green ammonia project near Moree will make fertilizer for local cotton growers from solar power, with start-up targeted for early 2027.

KAPSOM has completed all equipment shipments for the Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia (GEGHA) project, a farm-based green ammonia project in Australia designed to produce 5,000 metric tons a year. The shipments, finished in late September 2026, included the plant's core ammonia synthesis skid, the company said.

GEGHA is being built near Moree in New South Wales, next to the Wathagar cotton ginning facility, and is developed by Hiringa Energy and Sundown Pastoral Company. The integrated project uses solar power to make hydrogen, then converts it to ammonia for fertilizer and renewable fuel used locally, with cotton growers as the target customers. With dispatch complete, KAPSOM's work moves to on-site installation and commissioning ahead of a planned start-up in early 2027.

At 5,000 metric tons a year of nameplate capacity, GEGHA is a small, modular demonstration rather than a commodity-scale plant. By comparison, Casale's [100-ton-per-day modular unit in Norway](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/20260929-green-ammonia-plant-norway-casale-glomfjord/) would produce several times more over a year. The project's value lies in testing whether producing nitrogen fertilizer next to the farms that use it can cut freight costs and emissions for an inland cropping region.

The announcement did not disclose the project's cost, financing, or offtake terms with growers. Commissioning results next year will show whether the green ammonia project in Australia can run reliably on variable solar power.
