Retail fertilizer prices left anhydrous ammonia 18% above a year ago at $987 a ton, while 10-34-0 was the only nutrient to ease.

U.S. retail fertilizer prices rose for a third straight week in the second week of October 2026, led by a 6% monthly jump in UAN32 to $486 per ton, according to DTN's survey of agricultural retailers.

Anhydrous ammonia and UAN28 each gained 5% from a month earlier, to $987 and $441 per ton. DTN counts any move of 5% or more as significant. DAP edged up to $937, MAP to $981, potash to $503 and urea to $674 per ton. 10-34-0 was the only product to ease, slipping to $702 per ton.

All eight nutrients now cost more than a year ago. Anhydrous leads at 18% higher, followed by urea at 13% and UAN28 at 7%. MAP and 10-34-0 are up 5%, UAN32 4%, potash 3% and DAP 2%. On a per-pound-of-nitrogen basis, anhydrous was cheapest at $0.60, ahead of urea at $0.73, UAN32 at $0.76 and UAN28 at $0.79.

The latest gains reverse part of the split seen earlier this month, when [UAN28 fell 11% while urea climbed](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/20261005-u-s-fertilizer-prices-split-sharply-as-urea-jumps-9-and-uan28-falls-11/). DTN pointed to supply pressure from the Strait of Hormuz conflict, China's export restrictions and a global sulfur shortage, along with [Nutrien's indefinite Trinidad shutdown](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/20261008-nutrien-trinidad-nitrogen-shutdown-indefinite/). S&P Global Ratings expects the pressure on fertilizer markets to persist through 2026, with only gradual improvement in 2027.
