It was founded in 1929 as the Apatit Trust on the basis of the apatite-nepheline ore deposits of the Khibiny massif. This is one of the largest and richest deposits in the world, the main base of phosphorus-containing raw materials unique in its environmental friendliness and safety in Russia.

Over the years, the enterprise has extracted and processed more than 2 billion tons of ore, produced more than 700 million apatites and over 72 million tons of nepheline concentrate.

The Apatit branch in Khibiny is the flagship, PhosAgro base enterprise, which provides the company’s production facilities in other regions with environmentally friendly apatite concentrate for the production of fertilizers in demand on the domestic market and in more than a hundred countries around the world.
