Gomel Chemical Plant increased exports by 12.9%

In January-September this year, the Gomel Chemical Plant (Belarus) increased the export of mineral fertilizers by 12.9% to 554 thousand tons.

“As in previous years, the Ukrainian market remains the main export market for the Gomel Chemical Plant. According to the estimates for 2020, the consumption of complex fertilizers in Ukraine will decrease by 20% compared to 2019. This is caused by unfavorable weather conditions, which led to a decrease in crop yields. Under the conditions of limited material resources and uncertainty of the land market development in Ukraine, farmers have reduced the application of mineral fertilizers to the minimum economically feasible level,” said Natalya Zezukina, Head of the marketing department of the Gomel Chemical Plant.

At the same time, according to her report, the situation with prices in the world market is rather complicated as, during the nine months period of 2020, the NPK fertilizer and ammophos prices decreased by 10-14% and 11.5%, respectively.
