Ascenza develops global supplies
The Portuguese corporation Ascenza has launched the sales of “pro-insecticide” in Brazil. This agrochemical is inactive when sprayed and begins to act on contact with caterpillars. It’s called Indoxacarb 15 SC Guarda, produced by the Indian company Gharda.
According to the statement of Clérison Régis Perini, representative of Proteplan Pesquisas e Assessoria Agrícola, after the caterpillar ingests this drug, metabolic process activates the indoxacarb. Then the drug blocks the sodium channels in the caterpillar’s nervous system, leading to its death.
