Russia temporarily banned the exports of rice
Russian government temporarily banned the export of rice grits and rice. The corresponding resolution was signed by the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin. This restriction will be in effect until December 31, 2023.
There are several exceptions related to the export of rice grits and rice outside the country. The ban does not apply to the supply of these products to South Ossetia, Abkhazia and the states that are members of the Eurasian Economic Union. Also, rice can leave the borders of Russia if this happens as part of international transit traffic or it is sent as humanitarian aid.
The introduction of a temporary ban on the export of rice grits and rice was approved by the subcommittee on customs-tariff and non-tariff regulation. It was adopted to maintain a stable situation in the Russian market.
