China records significant increase in fertilizer exports for Jan-Sep 2023 period

Newly released data from the General Administration of Customs indicates a 31.6% year-on-year increase in China’s fertilizer exports for the period from January to September 2023. The total volume of exported fertilizers reached 22.67 million tons.

In the month of September 2023 alone, China exported 3.77 million tons of fertilizers, marking a 20.3% increase compared to the same month in the previous year.

The data further revealed that among the various types of fertilizers exported, urea witnessed the most rapid growth in the last month. Exports of urea surged 241.7% year-on-year. For the first three quarters of 2023, urea exports amounted to 2.83 million tonnes, an 80% increase from the previous year.
