Syngenta Flowers promotes Sunfinity sunflowers as extended-bloom garden solution

Syngenta Flowers has introduced its Sunfinity sunflower series, a hybrid line designed to extend the flowering period of traditional sunflowers from a typical three to four weeks to as long as 12 weeks. The product, promoted in collaboration with the National Garden Bureau, is positioned as a response to growing demand among home gardeners for longer-lasting, low-maintenance ornamental plants.

Unlike conventional sunflowers that cease blooming after cutting, the Sunfinity hybrids are bred for continuous flowering throughout the summer season. The collection includes multiple variants, such as Yellow Dark Center, Yellow-Red Bicolor, and Double Yellow, differing in height and bloom structure. The plants are designed for use in both garden beds and large containers, with additional emphasis on low pollen shedding, making them suitable for indoor arrangements.
The company highlights the plants’ role in supporting pollinators, noting that while seed and pollen production are limited, the flowers provide a steady nectar source for bees, butterflies, and birds. Recommended cultivation practices include periodic fertilization every four to six weeks to sustain flowering from early summer into fall. The varieties are also marketed for seasonal versatility, maintaining visual appeal when paired with autumn decorative elements such as pumpkins and hay bales.
