The Hydrometallurgical Plant (part of Almaz Group, and in the future it will be called Almaz Fertilizers) has produced 100 thousand tons of high-quality water soluble and granular fertilizers for a total amount of 3.5 billion rubles (approximately $ 54.7 million) since it resumed manufacturing in November 2018. The customer base of the enterprise totals over 300 consumers in more than 60 countries of the world.

After the production was relaunched, Cashmere Capital, the exclusive trading house of the enterprise, intensified efforts to restore the client base and attract new customers. For instance, large agricultural holdings and farms in Europe and North America came among those engaged.

Water soluble diammonium phosphate (DAP), the only Russian producer of which is the Hydrometallurgical Plant, is already used in the textile, food, and ceramic industries in the United States.

“The Hydrometallurgical Plant has proven to the customers and partners that it can produce products of the highest quality. We follow the market, introduce new products, upgrade production lines. Over the year, our team has favored a qualitative leap forward to the enterprise, and this trend will continue in the coming years,” said Andrey Korobov, the financial recovery project manager at Almaz Group.

As of today, the Hydrometallurgical Plant produces 15 thousand tons of products per month. By the end of 2021, the output is expected to double. The upward trend is ensured by a large-scale modernization program, within the scope of which it has already become possible to double the capacity of the production site of the high-tech water soluble fertilizer – monopotassium phosphate. Next year, the renewal of the facilities for production of water soluble potassium sulfate will also be completed, as a result of which its output will increase 10 times.

The Hydrometallurgical Plant (Lermontov, Stavropol Krai) has been producing high-performance mineral fertilizers of the phosphate group for more than 50 years. These fertilizers can be used not only to increase soil fertility, but also in the production of food additives. The range of the products the plant manufactures includes water soluble fertilizers – monoammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate, monopotassium phosphate, potassium sulfate, as well as granular fertilizers – ammophos and sulfoammophos. The company’s products are export-oriented, more than 80% of finished products are supplied to international markets.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
