Belaruskali fired almost 50 strikers

The management of Belaruskali dismissed 49 employees for unexcused absences. As the press-service of the enterprise reports, the workers refused to fulfill their labor duties because of the strike, which is not an admissible excuse for not showing up for work.

Similar measures will be taken against other employees who do not meet their duties. Belaruskali called on its employees not to follow provocations and to contact law enforcement agencies if somebody pushes them to participate in strikes.

Earlier, the strike committee of Belaruskali declared an indefinite strike against the decision of the Minsk Regional Court, which announced the previous strike of the workers on August 17 illegal. That day the workers demanded to admit the presidential elections held on August 9 be invalid. Their actions led to a partial suspension of Belaruskali where the work resumed on August 19. The Soligorsk Court ordered an administrative arrest for several representatives of the enterprise’s strike committee.
