Belarusian enterprises were not allowed to raise mineral fertilizer prices

The Belarus government discussed prices for mineral fertilizers. Producers were not allowed to greatly increase them despite the increased costs.

“As regards the formation of prices for nitrogen fertilizers for agriculture, Grodno Azot increased the cost of production by 5%, which doesn’t correspond to the plans and entails financial losses,” says the statement of the enterprise.

The company’s costs are related to exchange rate differences, bank loans and the cost of raw materials. Income is also influenced by the pricing environment in the global market.

Earlier, the management of Grodno Azot identified the problem with the uneven purchase of mineral fertilizers. The fact is that the greatest sales of mineral fertilizers to the Belarusian market fall on the period from March to May. Then the products are exported. World prices are declining during this period.
