Russian farmer filed a claim against Corteva Agriscience
Today, the 15th Commercial Appellation Court will hold a hearing on the claim of the farmer Andrey Ponomarenko against the Russian subsidiary of the US company Corteva Agriscience.
Earlier, Andrey Ponomarenko filed a lawsuit against the company to the Commercial Court of the Krasnodar region to recover a debt under a supply agreement (dated December 4, 2019) of 78.9 thousand rubles (about $1.1 thousand).
Corteva Agriscience, in turn, filed a claim against the farmer to collect a debt of 184.117 thousand rubles (approximately $2.5 thousand). The Commercial Court of the Krasnodar region rejected the claim of Andrey Ponomarenko but satisfied the claim of Corteva Agriscience.
Corteva Agriscience is one of the world’s largest producers of plant protection products.
