Norwegian producer of mineral fertilizers Yara International (hereinafter Yara) announced that they are forced to decline the production of ammonia at several European chemical plants due to the high prices for natural gas.
“Yara will suspend about 40% of its ammonia production capacity in Europe by next week,” the company’s statement said.
Yara will continue to provide its customers with the products of their demand but will also monitor the market and decline the ammonia production as needed.
Yara is one of the world’s largest producers of mineral fertilizers, supplying them to many countries, including Russia.
