The project of EuroChem in Kazakhstan became legal

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law on the ratification of an intergovernmental agreement with Russia on the project to build a plant for the production of mineral fertilizers.

The investor of the project is the EuroChem company. The project is planned to be implemented in two stages. Within the first stage, a mining and processing enterprise for the extraction of phosphorites has been created, while the second stage provides for the construction of the enterprise for the production of mineral fertilizers with a capacity of at least 1 million tons per year. The exact product portfolio of the future plant is not disclosed, however, it will most likely be about phosphorus fertilizers.

The raw material base of the project is the Karatau phosphorite basin.
