Russian Railways were allowed to raise shipment tariffs

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) has approved an 11% increase in rates of Russian Railways (RZD).

The new tariffs will come into effect from June this year. The increased rates will not affect the domestic transport of food, building materials and imported consumer goods.

“The increase in tariffs for the services of Russian Railways may affect the activities of domestic enterprises producing mineral fertilizers. They are already facing issues with their exports, which have not yet recovered after the Western countries imposed sanctions against Russia, and incur serious costs with changing the direction of supplies. Therefore, it would be better to withdraw the transportation of mineral fertilizers from the effect of increased tariffs until at least the end of 2022,” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily.
