Canpotex is strengthening its positions in India
Canadian trader Canpotex signed a Memorandum of understanding with Indian Potash, Coromandel International, and Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals.
As follows from their agreements, Canpotex will supply each of the three customers with up to 500 thousand tons of potassium chloride per year from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025. Specific volumes will depend on the situation in the global market and the level of prices for potassium chloride.
“Potassium chloride is vital to India’s food security and Canpotex has been a trusted supplier to this country for 50 years,” said Canpotex CEO Gordon McKenzie. “Canpotex is committed to meeting India’s potassium chloride needs, especially in light of the ongoing sanctions against Russia and Belarus.”
