Business mission of Russian exporters of agricultural products began in Manila
A business mission of Russian companies exporting agricultural products with the Republic of the Philippines began its work in Manila. The event was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the Federal Center “Agroexport” with the support of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance), the National Meat Association and 15 leading Russian companies manufacturing agricultural products are participating in the mission on the Russian side. From the Philippines – more than 60 importers, distributors, retailers, industry associations and government departments.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Sergey Levin emphasized the need to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of trade in agricultural products. The business mission of Russian companies is designed to create a basis for further expansion of interaction between the businesses of the two countries.
The Philippines is ready to offer Russian companies not only mutually beneficial trade but also the joint development of processing industries. According to Bianca Pearl Sykimte, Director of the Export Marketing Bureau of the Department of Industry and Trade of the Philippines, the Republic is in the top 15 most attractive countries for investment: “We have over 700 factories that process agricultural products. If Russia supplies raw materials, we could agree on establishing a mutually beneficial partnership for the supply of ready-made goods to the markets.”
