Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers (part of Uralchem) presented a new product – monopotassium phosphate. Monopotassium phosphate is a highly concentrated, water-soluble phosphorus-potassium fertilizer that can be used for both foliar and root application in greenhouses and outdoors. It’s recommended for use in the late phases of plant development, when they require less nitrogen. The optimal ratio of phosphorus and potassium in the monopotassium phosphate contributes to the formation of a powerful root system, the accumulation of sugars and vitamins in plants, and the improvement of the taste of fruits. The fertilizer is applicable to all types of cultivated crops in order to increase the yield and quality of marketable products.

The main features in the production technology of monopotassium phosphate at the Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers enterprise are the possibility of prompt restructuring of production and the interchangeability of workshops. The first batches of monopotassium phosphate are already being successfully used in the fields of agricultural partner enterprises of Uralchem.

“The unique technological chain created at our enterprise will allow us to achieve a record productivity in Russia — 72 tons per day. We have several divisions ready to release this product. They may be involved depending on the volume of the order,” said Vladimir Shvedikov, chief engineer of the Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers.

Irina Shustova, Head of Product Marketing Department, Uralchem:

“Now our product line of water-soluble fertilizers can be considered exhaustive. It includes calcium nitrate, where calcium and nitrogen are present, potassium nitrate (potassium and nitrogen), NPK – fertilizers of the Solar line with different contents of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, monoammonium phosphate (nitrogen and phosphorus), and now monopotassium phosphate (potassium and phosphorus) and magnesium sulfate. So those producers who need the variability of top dressing at different stages of development of a wide range of crops can fully provide themselves in the warehouses of Uralchem,” noted Irina Shustova, Head of Product Marketing Department at Uralchem.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
