Cognitive Pilot unveils autonomous tractor prototype
Cognitive Pilot, a technology-focused joint venture between Russian Sberbank and software corporation Cognitive Technologies, has showcased an industrial prototype of an autonomous mini-tractor. Developed by specialists based in Tomsk, Russia, this machine is engineered to operate with various attachments, enabling it to perform all fundamental agricultural tasks.
The quality of operations carried out by the tractor is self-monitored through an array of sensors installed on harrows, plows, and other equipment. This allows for real-time updates on work progress and machinery condition to be sent to the operator.
According to a representative from Cognitive Pilot, the launch of serial production for these cab-less mini-tractors is scheduled for 2025. The adoption of such technology is expected to mitigate the ongoing shortage of farm machinery operators.
