Kynetec, a global leader in data analytics and insights for the agriculture, animal health, and nutrition sectors, has announced its acquisition of Freshlogic, a premier provider of data-driven market intelligence in Australia’s fresh food and horticultural industries. Kynetec empowers businesses with predictive analytics and strategic insights across more than 80 countries, delivering valuable intelligence to stakeholders ranging from farmers to agribusiness executives. This strategic move enhances Kynetec’s capabilities in the horticultural sector and broadens its geographic footprint across the Asia-Pacific region.

Freshlogic, Australia’s leading provider of market insights in the fresh food and horticultural sectors, generates comprehensive data on fruit and vegetable supply chains across 50+ categories. Using proprietary research tools, the company provides consulting services that help clients navigate a competitive marketplace. The integration of Freshlogic’s expertise with Kynetec’s global analytics platform will enhance market intelligence and forecasting capabilities.

Strengthening Market Intelligence and Data Analytics

The acquisition is expected to bring several key benefits to the horticultural sector, including:

      • Deeper Market Understanding – By combining Freshlogic’s in-depth expertise in the Australian fresh food market with Kynetec’s global reach and advanced technology, clients will gain richer perspectives on market trends, consumer behavior, and supply chain dynamics. Freshlogic’s proprietary THRUchain platform, integrating 18 datasets with public domain data, will complement Kynetec’s analytics, enabling more informed decision-making.
      • Advanced Data Analytics – Kynetec’s state-of-the-art analytics platforms, paired with Freshlogic’s highly accurate and timely data sets, will offer sophisticated trend forecasting, allowing businesses to anticipate market changes and adjust strategies proactively.
      • Broader Geographic Coverage – The partnership extends market intelligence services beyond Australia, particularly into the Asia-Pacific region, which is increasingly critical for horticultural exports.
      • Innovation in Horticulture – The combined expertise of Kynetec and Freshlogic will drive innovation by equipping R&D teams and research institutions with data-driven insights to develop new products and solutions tailored to the unique needs of the industry.

      Leadership Perspectives

Commenting on the acquisition, Peter Berweger, CEO of Kynetec, emphasized the growing need for accurate and timely market data in an increasingly volatile fresh food market. “Bringing Freshlogic into Kynetec is a significant step in our strategy to enhance data and analytics value for our clients. Freshlogic is the definitive source for market intelligence in Australian horticulture, and we look forward to expanding its impact globally.”

Martin Kneebone, Managing Director of Freshlogic, expressed optimism about the new opportunities presented by the acquisition. “Joining Kynetec allows Freshlogic to leverage global resources in data, technology, and innovation. We look forward to providing even deeper insights and more innovative solutions to our clients.”

This acquisition underscores Kynetec’s commitment to strengthening its global market intelligence network and advancing data-driven decision-making in agriculture and horticulture.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
