Guru Ramamurthy named new CFO of Bayer Crop Science division

Bayer has announced that Guru Ramamurthy will take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its Crop Science division, effective July 1, 2025. Ramamurthy will succeed Oliver Rittgen, who has decided to pursue a career opportunity outside of Bayer after 25 years with the company.
Ramamurthy, who is currently CFO of Bayer US, has more than 20 years of experience within the company. He has held several finance leadership positions across various global business units, including CFO roles at AskBio, Bayer’s gene therapy unit, and as Global CFO for Bayer’s Medical Care division. Ramamurthy’s experience also includes positions in Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States.
Rodrigo Santos, Member of the Board of Bayer AG and President of the Crop Science division, commented, “Guru has demonstrated a strong ability to drive business transformation and strategic growth. His experience in shaping financial strategies and building high-performing teams will be instrumental as we continue to advance the Crop Science division.”
Ramamurthy will relocate to St. Louis, Missouri, for the new role, and Bayer will announce a successor for his current position as CFO of Bayer US in due course.

who joined Bayer in 2000, has held multiple leadership roles, including CFO of Bayer’s Consumer Health division and various regional CFO positions. Santos added, “Oliver’s contributions to business performance and financial operations have been invaluable, and we wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Bayer, a global leader in health care and nutrition, reported 2024 sales of 46.6 billion euros and invested 6.2 billion euros in research and development. The company employs around 93,000 people worldwide.
