Fieldin names co-founder as CEO to lead AI push in farm management

Fieldin has appointed co-founder Iftach Birger as chief executive officer, as the farm operations technology company pursues international growth and deeper integration of artificial intelligence into its platform.
Mr. Birger, who co-founded the company in 2013 and most recently served as chief operating officer, succeeds in leading Fieldin during a period of expansion. The Israel-based company provides a data platform designed for managing permanent crop operations, offering growers real-time visibility into equipment, workflows, and labor across their fields.
Fieldin’s system is currently used on more than 700,000 acres and manages over 10,000 connected machines across some 35,000 sites, according to company figures. Customers include Olam, Select Harvests, and Taylor Farms. The platform supports high-value crops such as nuts, grapes, citrus, and berries, and is deployed in the US, Israel, and Australia.
As CEO, Mr. Birger is expected to lead the company’s entry into additional markets, build technology partnerships, and advance AI-driven capabilities across the platform. “AI will play a major role in driving efficiency in areas of farming that haven’t changed in decades,” he said. “Spraying is just one example.”
During his tenure as COO, Mr. Birger helped guide Fieldin’s product development and established partnerships with equipment makers including ARAG and PAS. The company reports eight-figure annual revenue and employs more than 80 people globally.
Fieldin retrofits smart sensors onto existing agricultural machinery, such as tractors and sprayers, to collect operational data. That information is compiled into a centralized dashboard to help farmers monitor productivity, reduce downtime, and detect inefficiencies. The platform also supports traceability and sustainability goals through data-based decision-making.
The company is backed by investors including Fortissimo Capital, Zeev Ventures, ICON Accelerator, and Akkadian Ventures.
Mr. Birger said the company would continue to prioritize solutions that help growers manage day-to-day operations more efficiently while adapting to long-term changes in agriculture.
