SAP and Syngenta partner to expand use of AI across global agriculture operations

SAP and Syngenta have entered into a multi-year strategic technology partnership aimed at embedding artificial intelligence across Syngenta’s global operations, the companies said on Thursday.
Under the agreement, SAP will provide cloud-based enterprise software and AI tools designed to modernize Syngenta’s core business processes, from manufacturing and supply chain management to data-driven products and services for farmers. The initiative is intended to accelerate innovation and improve operational resilience at a time when agriculture is under pressure from climate variability, supply chain disruptions, and rising global food demand.
Syngenta plans to begin the transformation by migrating key operations to SAP Cloud ERP Private solutions, which are intended to provide greater agility and scalability across the value chain. The company will also adopt SAP Business Data Cloud to consolidate data into a unified platform, supporting real-time analytics and AI-driven decision-making.
The partnership includes the use of SAP’s Business AI portfolio, including AI-assisted tools such as the Joule copilot, to support faster and more informed decisions across the enterprise. SAP said the tools would help Syngenta improve efficiency while maintaining data security and grower control over proprietary information.
