Pivot Bio launches RETAIN Dry to expand microbial nitrogen options for sorghum growers

Pivot Bio has introduced RETAIN Dry, a new planter-box formulation designed to help sorghum growers apply the company’s nitrogen-fixing microbial technology directly to seed at planting. The product expands the RETAIN line to three application methods—liquid in-furrow, on-seed, and dry—aimed at giving farmers more flexibility in integrating biological nitrogen solutions into crop nutrition programs.
The dry formulation is designed to fit existing planting workflows and includes micronutrients such as zinc, iron, manganese, boron, copper and molybdenum to support microbial nitrogen fixation and plant nitrogen uptake. According to the company, the product also improves seed flowability and early plant development, including larger root systems and faster canopy formation.
RETAIN Dry can be applied through several on-farm methods, including calibrated dry additive feeders on seed tenders, layering during seed loading or double-transfer seed box applications. Each package treats up to 500 acres of sorghum and is initially available in several U.S. states across the Midwest and South, including Kansas, Nebraska, Texas and Arkansas. The launch follows recent introductions of Pivot Bio PROVEN G3 for corn and Pivot Bio CERT-N Dry for cotton as the company expands its portfolio of microbial nitrogen products.
