Sistema.bio launches farmcarbon platform to scale climate finance for smallholder farmers

Sistema.bio has launched its FarmCarbon platform, a new initiative designed to expand access to climate finance while helping farmers reduce methane emissions from agricultural activities. The platform focuses on smallholder farmers, enabling them to generate carbon credits by adopting biodigester technology that captures and converts organic waste into renewable energy and fertilizer.
The company said the program seeks to address a key barrier in agricultural decarbonization by simplifying participation in carbon markets. By aggregating emissions reductions across multiple farms, FarmCarbon aims to create scalable carbon credit projects that can attract institutional buyers. This approach is expected to provide farmers with an additional revenue stream while supporting broader methane mitigation efforts.
Sistema.bio added that the initiative aligns with growing global demand for high-quality carbon credits tied to measurable environmental outcomes. The platform is positioned to support both climate goals and rural development by improving farm productivity, reducing reliance on synthetic fertilizers, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
