Martin Engineering launches new conveyor dust control systems to cut emissions and maintenance costs

Martin Engineering has introduced a new range of conveyor transfer point dust control technologies designed to reduce airborne emissions and material spillage while improving worker safety. The company said its latest systems—including the ApronSeal urethane skirting, GravitySeal self-adjusting skirting, and A.I.R. Control dust curtain—are engineered to deliver effective containment without requiring external power, positioning them as a lower-cost alternative to traditional dust collection systems.

According to the company, the products are designed for retrofit on existing conveyor systems and rely on passive control methods at the point of dust generation. The urethane-based skirting solutions are intended to maintain consistent sealing even as belts shift or wear, while the modular dust curtain system helps slow airflow and encourage particle settling within enclosed transfer points. Martin Engineering said the systems also emphasize ease of maintenance, allowing servicing from outside enclosures and reducing the need for confined-space entry.

The launch comes amid tightening air quality and workplace safety standards in industrial operations. The company said its solutions can help operators improve regulatory compliance while minimizing downtime and maintenance requirements, particularly in sectors handling bulk materials such as mining, aggregates, and fertilizers.

Europe is falling behind in this field. The concerns 30 years ago was reasonable. Now not so much. We need crops that can survive in a more extreme future climate. Handle droughts and hot weather better. Crops that are less tasty to pests like hogs and deere.
